Blue Carpet! some one help!!!!?

I just bought a 1925 colonial. The house is in beautiful condition. The walls are original plaster and look perfect. It has original wood windows with new storms. I really excited. I have only one problem…The carpet is blue. It’s in great shape and I dont want to rip it out. I have a severe dis like for the color as far as interior design goes. I was thinking about using browns to tone it down. Does anyone have any ideas as to what kind of palatte I can use? The carpet is everywhere exspect the kitchen. I lean more toward rustic design, very earthy tones. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I would have to say bye bye to carpet that I really hated. In fact I wouldn’t even want to live on someone else’s carpet. Lord knows whats been on it, and cleaning really doesn’t get rid of germs etc, carpets are a breeding ground for all kinds of stuff.

If you really have to keep it tho, I would recommend, warm cream tones, not yellow, more like butter colors, or a pale taupe, light brown. Not dark brown, it would be way to dark with the blue.
